I wouldn't play games that have other people that are partisan to the game. Counterstrike is an example of such a partisan game. The admins of the server basically control the game.

This is the advantage of a centralized server. All players obey the same rules and there is no such thing as "kicked because you are too good"

Yes but with individual servers being run by individuals themselves you've got much more choice and atmosphere when playing the game. Our server for example has much more fun than most others because we allow things that others might not. The problem with a centralized server is that they have to please the public best they can, but individual servers can be run however to appeal to whoever.

I dont mind camping. As I stated before, camper on some maps add to the fun for it provides a challenge. Camping is also fun when a camper doesnt know when to give up on his favorite spot (easy kill). There were DM maps that I racked up high kill counts due to the fact of some players not trying anything else except camping one particular spot...so I camped opposite or waited for them to head in that direction...and GO RED ENGINE type of words flowed like a river.
Another example: CS Source
Before VAC (valve anti cheat), it was easy to see plenty of hacks being used. One guy used a wall hack (Counter terrorist) and before we (terrorist) even were able to get 10 feet from the spawn point, he ran through the walls and took out half the team. The counter terrorists team just stayed at thier spawn laughing. Admin did nothing.

I havent had any run ins with bad admins (mainly cause im not that good) but the thing when u talk about camping. Ok camping is ok in places. I remember one time in Joint ops me and my m8s went to the opposite base and stalked the helecopters. Basically someone went in they died trying to get it of the ground lots of fun even after 20 kills. but spwan camping is a different matter. if u can only spawn in one place and some one has an uber weapon u die instantly (especially against snipers) it ruins the fun for that team. i rarely camp as its a lot more fun actually trying to play the game.

I've never personally gotten that bent out of shape over a game before echo. I mean, the points don't MEAN anything beyond the meaning you assign them on some stats page.

But I have had that happen to me on fps servers, sure.

There are lots of stupid admins like this on counter strike source. I get more kills than the noobish admin and he says that I "hack" and then he bans me. That really makes me mad.

I run 3 CS:S servers with a coworker of mine. The servers are hosted out of our office (and have been given an OK by the network opperations center). =D

Anyway, we have about 6 volunteer admins who have slay/kick/ban priveleges if things get out of control. Well, I was playing incognito as usual and saw one of the admins slaying a guy camping on scoutzknivez. He did this a few rounds and I appologized to the guy who was repeatedly slain (since scoutzknivez has no objective, camping is perfectly fine on that map).

That admin was talked to and told not to do it again.

A lot of admins on a lot of servers are just chosen because they're buddies of people they play with and such. Not because they have qualities that would be good for an admin.

When my coworker and I decide we need to "hire" another admin, we go through a screening process, essentially looking through "resumes" and finding out WHY people want admin, how they react, how much play time they have, all sorts of stuff. We take it very seriously because their behavior reflects on the servers (which are very popular btw).

I try to only use my powers for kicking afk'ers, initiating votes for pistols or shotties only, and ban'ing people who ruin the game for others (repeatedly team flashing after being warned, obvious hackers, etc).

We have votekick and votemap enabled and I try to let democracy prevail since we've endowed our players with the ability to police themselves (if you get votekicked 3 times, you get banned for 48 hours).
